Cyberport/BizGym is designed for cross-compatiblity among browsers. But all browsers are not created alike, so please check the following browser notes to get the most out of your experience. If you continue to experience issues or have suggestions on how to better the system, please Contact Us
ALL BROWSERS: Enable “Cookies”
“Cookies” are pieces of information placed on computers to enhance the user experience. Without cookies, some features may not be available such as: creating a user account; saving data; or using auto-fill or auto-login. Visit your browser’s Settings or Preferences to “enable” Cookies.
UNSUPPORTED BROWSERS: IE6; FireFox 3.5; Safari 3
This application is built on the Google Web Toolkit platform which means that older browsers not supported by Google may experience functionality issues. Google’s policy is to only support the latest two releases of any browser with the exception of the Opera browser which it does not support at all. If you are using an unsupported browser, update to the latest version before using this system: Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome, Safari
Microsoft Internet Explorer Users
Internet Explorer (IE) browsers have multiple limitations that don’t work well for advanced Internet applications. While you can create work-arounds and install upgrades, we recommend switching to a different browser like FireFox, Chrome or Safari
IE8: DOWNLOAD SETTINGS
IE has historically been a target for computer viruses, so your default IE settings may be blocking you from certain features such as Report downloads. To receive downloads, adjust IE settings as follows:
- 1. go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security
- 2. Click on ‘Custom Level’
- 3. Find ‘Downloads’ section
- 4. Enable ‘Automatic prompting for file downloads’ and ‘File downloads’
- 5. Click OK to close Custom Security Settings dialog
- 6. Click OK again to close Internet Options
- 7. Restart your browser
If you are on a company system, you might also check with your system administrator as firewalls and other add-on security features may be limiting browsing features.
IE8 & IE9: COMPATIBILITY SETTINGS
Compatibility Settings in IE8 and IE9 can create the following symptoms: ill-positioned menus, images, or text; disabled website features; script error messages, or; can stop working entirely. These problems should not occur in IE6 or IE7. To adjust your IE settings to use advanced applications features:
- 1. Tools -> Compatibility View settings
- 2. Add bizgym.com to list of websites
- 3. Close dialog
- 4. Restart browser
- 1. Tools -> Compatibility View (to make sure there is a checkmark next to it)
If you’re on a company system, you might also check with your system administrator as firewalls and other add-on security features may be limiting browsing features.
IE8 & IE9: TO ADD SPELL CHECK & CUT/PASTE FEATURES
All browsers except Internet Explorer include spell check & cut/paste features. These features are very helpful in BizGym but for IE, you’ll have to download a free upgrade extension called ieSpell. Refer to this eHow article for installation tips.
